Who we are

This notice explains how The Garden Dental ("we", "us") collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal data when you use this website or contact us, in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

We are located at 26P, Jln Masjid Negeri, Taman Guan Joo Seng, 11600 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia.

Personal data we collect

• Details you give us when booking or enquiring — such as your name, phone number, email address, the treatment you're interested in, and your preferred appointment day and time — sent to us by WhatsApp or email.
• Information about your health or dental condition that you choose to share with us. We treat this as sensitive personal data and only process it with your consent, for the purpose of your care.
• Job applications sent to us, including your CV and contact details.
• Corporate partnership enquiries, including your company and contact details.
• Website usage information collected through cookies and similar technologies, such as the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, and your approximate location (see “Cookies and analytics” below).

How we use your personal data

• To respond to your enquiries and arrange, confirm or change appointments.
• To provide dental care and related follow-up communication.
• To assess job applications and partnership enquiries.
• To understand how our website is used, so we can improve it.
• To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to those above without your consent.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only as needed to run our clinic and this website, with service providers who process it on our behalf — including Google (email and website analytics), Meta (WhatsApp) and Vercel (website hosting). Some of these providers may store data outside Malaysia; where they do, we rely on them to protect it to a standard comparable to the PDPA.

We may also disclose personal data where required by law or by a regulatory authority.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and which buttons are tapped. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information like your device type, browser and approximate location. It does not tell us who you are.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The website will still work if you do.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law — for example, clinical records are kept for the period required for medical and dental records. Enquiries that don't lead to treatment, and job applications, are deleted when no longer needed.

How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and limit access to the people who need it.

Your rights

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
• Withdraw your consent, or limit how we process your personal data — though this may affect our ability to provide some services.
• Make an enquiry or complaint about how we handle your personal data.

Providing your personal data

Giving us your personal data is voluntary. However, if you don't provide the details we need, we may not be able to respond to your enquiry or arrange an appointment. For patients under 18, a parent or guardian provides personal data and consent on their behalf.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it takes effect.
